CTS10 Secondary Seal
The CTS10 is a rim mounted secondary seal based on individual rubber elements in direct contact with the tank shell. The rubber elements have integrated springs ensuring that the seal element is pushing with its tip against the tank shell. As the seal design has no complex moving parts it will not encounter problems as a result of corrosion or any other hazards affecting seal performance through time. Apart from that the modular design facilitates easy installation. The tongue and groove connection between the rubber elements ensures a tight fit, shielding the tank contents from rainwater penetrating the tank. As the elements are produced from an excellent rubber compound both vapour tightness, medium resistance as well as weather resistance are excellent.

Design and engineering
CTS designs each individual seal for the tank it will be fitted on.
This will prevent the installation of a standard seal, where it is
possible to find out within months that this standard seal would
not be able to deal with the actual rim gap or tank conditions.
A detailed tank inspection sheet will facilitate our engineering
process. Delivery will include an as-built drawing for the supplied
tank seal as well
Installation
CTS is capable of installing any seal on your
tank, but our extensive drawings and installation
manuals will facilitate you to have either your
own or contractor staff install the seal and, if
applicable, the integral foam dam as well. The
advantage of having your own (contractor) staff
installing the system could be significant, reducing
travelling and lodging costs. Experienced CTS supervision
is available upon request.
Materials, selection
Not just the design of the seal is
important for its performance. Correct material
selection might be even more important to
ensure a long term adequate performance for any
seal. In this respect one also has to realise
that fabrics will be difficult to inspect and
malfunctioning seals could represent a hazard,
while still mechanically sound. Materials have
to withstand the stored product, ozone, sun
exposure and rain water contact. CTS is able
to give you a profound advise on the optimal
combination of materials, resulting in an economic
seal design able to deal with the harshest
conditions. Seals can be manufactured in a wide
variety of materials, including different grades
of stainless steel and polymer materials. This will
make our seals suitable for processes with 100% aromatics or
aggressive chemicals.
