60m aluminium dome completed at vopak

After an installation period of only 7 weeks CTS has completed the conversion project at VOPAK Europoort. During the project the external floating roof was taken out of service and dismantled in the tank. After dismantling the old EFR the tank was ready to be covered.

From this moment onwards the dome was constructed and lifted in place. After little more than 3 weeks the dome was lifted on the tank and finalised

After the dome was in place the internal floating roof was assembled on supports. Because the internal floater is a suspended IFR it could not be assembled on its legs but hat to be assembled on separate supports. After the assembly of the IFR the cables were lowered from the dome and attached to the floating roof.

Finally the supports were removed and the IFR hang suspended from the dome.

This conversion will not only result in lower maintenance costs, but also emissions of volatile organic carbons will be significantly reduced. The materials were delivered in less than 12 weeks, where installation took only 7 weeks.
