Optimal reduction of emission for KNPC tanks
In the last quarter of 2009 CTS received an order for the supply of various systems for 15 storage tanks. CTS will supply CTS1 scissor type shoe plate seals with CTS 20 secondary seals, gauge pole covers and leg seals for this major player in the Middle east.
With these systems installed the tanks will have an optimal emission reduction for many years to come.
CTS1 scissor type shoe plate seals combined with CTS20 secondary seals to several tanks operated by Shell Nigeria. The CTS1 is a new generation scissor type shoe plate seal, doing away with the concerns the traditional counter weight driven seals had.
The CTS1 shoe plates are connected to the floating roof with hangers and compressed against the tank shell by leaf springs. All CTS’ shoe plate seals are custom designed per tank, which eliminates problems that are common with off-the-shelf types of seals. The tank specific seal design ensures a seal with superior performance compared to other primary seal designs.
