2007, ANOTHER YEAR OF IMPRESSIVE INTERNATIONAL GROWTH FOR CTS:
From 2004 onward CTS has developed itself to a market leader in the engineering, distribution and installation of products and systems for atmospheric storage tanks. Significant international growth was realised in 2005 and 2006, but 2007 was a year breaking all records with respect to growth and projects completed.
Some remarkable facts to illustrate the extraordinary growth of CTS:
- CTS was operating 7 offices per the end of 2007
- In 2007 the number of projects and deliveries involved more than 200 individual tanks located in Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia
- CTS Group companies turnover for 2007 was well in excess of 40 million US Dollars
- Customers in 2007 included many major oil companies such as Aramco, BAPCO, BP, CEPSA, ExxonMobil, Hess, IRPC, KNPC, KPPC, OMV, Q8, PDVSA, Repsol, Shell and Total
- Apart from that many independent storage tank terminals were served, amongst others including ARGOS Oil, LBC, Odfjell, Rubis, Vitol, Vopak and many others

CTS The Netherlands (Rotterdam):
Representing the backbone of the CTS organisation this office is serving all European countries, and supporting all the other CTS Group companies in all their operations. Located within driving distance from the main ports of Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Antwerp, Belgium CTS The Netherlands is positioned close to the very centre of the storage industry and distributing ports for both Hydrocarbons and Chemicals.
CTS Chile (South America):
Being the first international office of CTS, CTS Chile is supporting the storage tank industry in South America. Most remarkable in this respect is the fact that CTS Chile in its 24 months of operations has not only covered projects for aluminium domes, aluminium internal floating roofs and tank seals, but also covered the supply of marine loading arms, truck loading arms, tank heating systems, gaskets and valves on several storage tank terminal projects.
CTS Bahrain (Middle East):
The second international office was formed in Bahrain as CTS Middle East WLL. (CTS ME), with the intention to support the storage tank industry in The Middle East. Under the management of Osama Al-Najjar CTS Middle East has conducted several projects for tank seals, internal floating roofs and tank drain systems. Reputable customers as Aramco, BAPCO and NIOC have awarded contracts to CTS ME.
CTS Far East (Singapore):
In 2007 CTS realised a presence in Singapore through establishing CTS (Far East) Pte. Ltd. (CTS FE). Senior staff at CTS have extensively covered a significant market share in and from Singapore, and CTS FE should be able to capitalise on this past position, using the present strength of the CTS Group. Recently CTS FE (Far East) was awarded several major contracts for tank terminals. The main contract is a contract to supply 20 dome roofs, and 18 internal floating roofs to the new terminal being built by Vitol in Fujairah, UAE (see further contents of this Newsletter). Another agreement worthwhile of being mentioned is the agreement to supply and install up to 7 aluminium domes to replace corroded steel roofs at the Shell Singapore refinery (Pulau Bukom), as also mentioned in this Newsletter.
CTS TANK (THAILAND) LTD.
Also in Thailand a CTS office is up and running now. A revitalised approach as CTS Tank (Thailand) Ltd. has resulted in a very healthy inflow of orders for CTS Thailand. Several major customers are relying on CTS Thailand for support in the area of aluminium internal floating roofs, tank seals and aluminium dome roofs for storage tanks. Apart from that CTS Thailand is strong in distributing loading arms and special hoses, such as composite hoses and rubber hoses.
CTS INDONESIA (JAKARTA):
Being a representative office of CTS The Netherlands this office is responsible for marketing and sales of CTS’ products in Indonesia. It is not only handling the sales for the storage tank related products and systems, but is also handling the supply of valves. One of the highlights since starting the office per in the course of 2007 was the order for supplying 3 CTS1 scissor type primary seals in combination with CTS20 secondary seals for Hess Indonesia through a leading Indonesian based engineering contractor.
CTS IBERICA (SPAIN):
The most recently opened CTS office is CTS Iberica. From Barcelona, Spain this office will be supporting all valve sales, and the distribution of tank seals, internal floating roofs, aluminium dome roofs, tank drain systems and all other storage tank related product lines.
One of the main objectives in establishing a string of international offices is the fact that CTS wants to develop its activities on a global scale, being able to support our customers from offices close to their facilities. Recently received contracts in Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia do illustrate the success of this approach.
